Plitvice Lakes in Croatia is a set of 16 amazing lakes interconnected by a series of waterfalls, rivulets and subterranean channels. They are separated by natural dams or travertine, which is deposited by the action of moss, algae, and bacteria.

The travertine grows at the rate of 1 cm per year creating a dynamic environment. With the travertine development numerous magnificent waterfalls are created. Over time, the water changes its course, leaving some travertine dry, but simulating travertine growth in other places. This phenomena makes the Plitvice Lakes are ever changing and creates the feeling that the Plitvice Lakes are never the same from one day to the next.

Panoramic photography is a technique of photography, using specialized equipment or software, that captures images with elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. Panorama photos are normally shot by stitching  series of photos with sightly overlapping fields to create a panoramic image.

This post contains a compilation of panoramic photos from Croatia, covering the capital city Zagreb, coastal town of Zadar and  the Plitvice Lakes.

Glavni Kolodvor, the main railway station of Zagreb was constructed in 1892 by Hungarian architect Ferenc Pfaff. The 186.5 meter long building is decorated with beautiful sculptures and stucco work is located south of King Tomislav Square. Once the luxurious Orient Express passed through this station.
