A Photowalk along Chitpur Road, Kolkata (Calcutta)
Bonga Local, Gede Local, Rangahat Local are all local trains originating from the Sealdah Station in Kolkata (Calcutta). There is no Chitpur Local and it is quiet obvious as Chitpur is a neighborhood located within Kolkata (Calcutta).
Chitpur Local is a name of a project aimed at reviving the Chitpur area, which is considered as the one oldest neighborhood of Kolkata (Calcutta).

The main objective of Wikipedia Photowalk, officially known a “Wikipedia Takes,” is to build a database of photos of landmarks of the city. The photos can later be used in the relevant articles.

The iconic Hotel Esplanade is located next to the main station (Glavni Kolodvor) in Zagreb, Croatia. Hotel Esplanade was constructed for the passengers of the Orient Express, a luxary train that once connected Paris to Istambul.

Its the first Saturday of October and its time for the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk. Scott Kelby, photographer and photo editor, have been organizing photowalks worldwide since 2008. Held on the the first Saturday of October Scott Kelby’s photowalk is organized in all the major cities of the world and attracts thousands of photo enthusiast. The 2013 version of Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk consisted of 1238 walk with 28648 participants.
Since the last year Calcutta (Kolkata) has been on the Scott Kelby’ Worlwide Photowalk map and 2013 saw two separate walks in Calcutta (Kolkata). I decided to join the walk in North Calcutta (Kolkata) lead by Manjit Singh Hoonjan.

The pujas are over and the winter chill has already set in and its ideal time for a photowalk in Calcutta (Kolkata). Nikon School India Kolkata photowalk was scheduled at 6:30 am on the 28 October 2012. The meeting point was Victoria Memorial North Gate.
Aksah, my colleague and fellow photo enthusiast, and I reached the venue just Victoria North Gate exactly at 6:30 am. Anindo Basu and Soumyajit Maitra of Nikkon India were already there and so were several fellow participants. The participants consisted of a interesting mix of photographers, starting from first timers to hard core veterans but each carried a Nikon DSLR, starting from low end and out of market models like D60 to the latest high end models of D800. Several participants carried a wide variety of lenses, including third party lenses.
